- What travel documents do I need?
For customs clearance, you should identify your TZLA Machine as a "science project kit" for learning about electricity and plasma, with documentation including a commercial invoice and cargo manifest. While customs processes vary by country and can be unpredictable, our declared value is typically $85 USD. If your package is held, simply explain its educational purpose. For more difficult cases, we can provide you with a Customs Declaration Letter which has helped many members.
- How does customs work?
Customs agents can be pesky, that's for sure, but you would not be paying a tax based on the donation amount, as the TZLA machine is a gift for joining a private health and well-being members association to be used as a "science experiment". Typically, the customs tax is no more than $150, usually much lower. Based on past shipments, this typically ranges between $30 and $150, though in many cases, it is $0, as we ship the kit with no commercial value.
- How do I travel with the TZLA Machine?
If you would like to travel with the machine, we recommend that you package it in a hard case with protective foam and label it with a "fragile" or "handle with care" sticker. It's best to check the TZLA machine as baggage at the airport. Many members fly with their machines and haven't had any issues with airport security. Keep in mind that you will have to buy a plug adaptor to match the socket that of your location, as the machine comes with a standard North American plug.
