What bulbs to use
Use Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) bulbs with an E26 or E27 standard screw base. Any household voltage is fine (for example, 120V or 220V), and wattage and color temperature do not matter.

- Wattage: Not relevant — however, higher-wattage CFLs are usually larger, and therefore, may produce more plasma due to containing more gas. Larger CFLs are also easier to handle during TZLA sessions.

What NOT to use
- LED bulbs
- Incandescent bulbs
Never attempt to connect LED or Incandescent bulbs. Doing so may damage the kit and may be dangerous for the user.
Tips for best results
- You can mix bulb sizes on the same cord, as long as the setup you use is the same on each lamp cable.
- Do not use differing setups on each cable. Maintaining symmetrical configurations is essential for proper operation of the TZLA machine.
- If you are deciding between wattage or color temperature, choose any option you prefer, since wattage and color-temperature are not relevant.
When to replace bulbs
- Significant grey or black staining inside the glass
- Filament debris collecting at the bottom of the bulb
- Noticeable drop in plasma sensation
