This Code of Conduct implements section 7.2 of the PMA agreement and establishes key expectations for all members of the TZLA Club. It upholds our club's commitment to In Lak'ech ("You are my other self"), reflecting our group’s dedication to mutual respect, and excellence. Together, these principles ensure a productive environment for everyone.
1. Integrity and Confidentiality
Members must always act with honesty and integrity. All internal information, discussions, and member data are strictly confidential and must not be shared outside the club. This includes:
- Member Information: You cannot mention or identify other members by name or share any personal details about them to anyone outside the club
- Technical Data: You cannot share any technical data, research findings, methodologies, or copyrighted information obtained from our sources without explicit written permission from leadership
- Club Operations: All discussions about club activities, processes, and internal matters must remain confidential
Breaches of confidentiality are grounds for immediate termination of membership and may lead to legal action. These obligations continue even after membership ends.
2. Respectful and Professional Conduct
Treat all fellow members, staff, and collaborators with respect, professionalism, and courtesy, unless in specific contexts approved by leadership. Harassment or disparaging remarks of any kind are not tolerated. Communication should be constructive, clear, and aligned with the club's positive, enthusiastic, and solution-focused style.
This approach applies throughout all club communications, with one exception: the Telegram topic "The Octagon." This designated space functions as a free-for-all, battle-royale, ideas fight club where members can engage in unrestricted discourse in a vale tudo style. The Octagon allows members to practice oratory skills and engage in robust debate without the usual communication constraints. However, even in The Octagon, all other aspects of this Code of Conduct—particularly regarding confidentiality, privacy, and maintaining the club's reputation—remain in full effect.
3. Commitment to Excellence and Growth
Strive for high standards in all activities. Embrace intellectual humility—admit what you do not know, seek support, and take ownership of your learning. Be proactive in offering help and identifying improvements. Innovation, continuous improvement, and measurable results are core to our mission.
4. Privacy and Compliance
All club activities, transactions, and communications occur "inside the club" and are governed by the Private Membership Association (PMA) agreement.

5. Care for Club provided Resources
As a steward of divinely provided resources, it's your responsibility to help maintaining the integrity and condition of all club-related assets, both digital and physical. Follow provided standard operating procedures and promptly report any issues through official channels. In case of kit-related replacements being made, return old club resources as instructed.
6. Uphold the Club's Reputation
When interacting with third parties and mentioning the club, represent it with discretion. Avoid any actions or statements—public or private—that could harm the club's reputation, members, or mission.
7. Amendments to the Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct may be modified periodically to reflect the evolving needs of our community. The club leadership commits to:
- Notify all members promptly when changes are made
- Provide clear explanations of any modifications
- Allow reasonable time for members to review and understand updates before they take effect
Members are responsible for reviewing all updates and acknowledging their continued commitment to the Code of Conduct. Continued participation in club activities after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
